To date I have:
- Made a start (several thousand words) on the introduction. It will do for now, but certainly needs attention in the near future as it doesn’t quite say what I want to say. Just matters of inflection rather than substance I suspect, but hey.
- Completed the systematic searches for the literature review – Ten or eleven databases so far have yielded about 100 papers, which I intend to cross-reference against a datamining approach from the primary papers. I expect to have in excess of 300 sources from the datamine, so if nothing else, it will keep me busy.
- Contacted colleagues in other faculties, to see what light they might bring to the table. In particular, I am interested in exploring the experiential aspects of management learning as I believe it to be important in small businesses particularly. To this end I have a meeting in March with someone expert in this area.
- I have made a request via the Federation of Small Businesses for managers interested in helping my research, and this should have some results in March (says he hopefully!).
So. Slow progress, but progress all the same. The two years remaining doesn’t seem like it will be long enough! 🙂
