Ed.D

In the beginning…

…was an academic blog which was an attempt to pin down some of my thoughts regarding my research, particularly in terms of underlying themes and concepts. Undertaking a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D), I wanted to track my progress and for three years I maintained a blog here.  For reasons unknown to me now, I took this blog down as I finished – not thinking that I might want to retain the posts and comments… Doh!

So.  Here I have recreated some of the pages – I will try to restore the links but clearly this will take some time.  Onwards then…

I had laid out my thinking using the Ed.D modules as they arrived – a little unimaginative, but I hoped to rearrange the order into something a bit less linear as I became more comfortable with this software.  Didn’t happen, but hey.

For those of you not in the know, a taught doctorate usually comprises of a series of taught courses followed by the thesis.  In my case, as a part-time student, the first three years comprise one taught module per year with the final two years given over to write and submit the thesis. In addition to this, throughout the course there is a requirement to publish, or disseminate, in some form or other.  Ergo this blog.

Therefore, here are the original pages for modules One to Three, with a separate area for sharing my current reading list and my thoughts around the subjects I encounter either in books, papers or in discussion… in looking ahead, this might be one of the most ongoing active and up-to-date areas, but this remains to be seen…
