So, a good day in terms of making a positive contribution to the paper. I have managed to make an initial outline of the project role and flowchart the initial referral process.
This involved identifying the ‘enablers’ and ‘barriers’ that have been seen so far, with a view to ensuring future implementations of the model don’t have the same problems. Similarly, working out the flowchart was an exercise in clarifying the stages of the referral and the processes that need to be completed in order. For example, if the patient declines the service, the GP will need to be informed. Similarly, if the patient accepts the service, the GP needs to be informed of the services that have been signposted and taken up. The difference between these two is that the first will be an internal process, whereas the second relies wholley on the external service feeding back to either the Coordinator or the GP directly.
Either way, to be honest, the feel-good factor is in starting to write again!
